INTRODUCTION
Perbadanan Putrajaya was established under Perbadanan Putrajaya Act 1995 [Act 536] effective starting 1 March 1996.
The purpose of the establishment of the Perbadanan Putrajaya is to administer and manage the Federal Territory of Putrajaya.

FUNCTION
Functions of Perbadanan Putrajaya as stated in Section 4 of the Perbadanan Putrajaya Act 1995 [Act 536] is:
a) Perform all local government functions within the Federal Territory of Putrajaya;
b) Advancing, promoting, facilitating, and undertaking economic and social development in the Federal Territory of Putrajaya;
c) Advancing, promoting, facilitating, and undertaking commercial development, infrastructure development, and residential development in the Federal Territory of Putrajaya; and
d) Controlling and coordinating the implementation of the activities mentioned in the paragraph (b) and (c) within the Federal Territory of Putrajaya.
